HOW TO GET FREE FORTNITE SKIN
Unfortunately, this kind of creativity is not possible without skins. Skins are the foundation of Fortnite cosmetics. Sure, there’s pickaxes, gliders, emotes, and backblings, but skins are the main outfit you're in-game character wears.
Skins can be quite pricey. A single Legendary skin can run upwards of £16/$20. Not everyone’s in a position where they can spend money on these optional cosmetics. But thankfully, there are ways to acquire skins without spending any money. There are tons of methods to earn Fortnite skins entirely for free.

Fortnite’s Seasonal Events are a great opportunity to acquire free cosmetics and skins. Fortnite typically holds a special event every holiday. Holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween, and Christmas all get their own limited-time events. These events usually offer the chance to complete unique challenges and the like in exchange for exclusive seasonal cosmetics.
For example, during Winterfest 2019, players could enter the Winterfest Lodge. Here, they could open a new present every day for 14 days leading up to Christmas. These presents included gliders, pickaxes, and of course, free skins.
Participating players received the Wooly Warrior skin and the Lt. Evergreen skin completely for free. The gift of giving was in full swing during this generous holiday event.

Twitch Prime offers players a chance to claim free skins from time to time. Connecting an Amazon Prime account with Twitch and then linking it to your Epic Games account will allow you to claim all kinds of free cosmetics in a variety of different games, including Fortnite.
Havoc, Sub Commander, Trailblazer, and a bunch of additional cosmetics were all free rewards gifted to Fortnite players with a Twitch Prime account.

Participating in online competitive Fortnite events is an awesome opportunity to win free skins. Fortnite hosts open tournaments daily that players can enter as a way to scratch their competitive itch and potentially win prizes. Rewards for these tournaments often include early access to new skins — for free.
Venom, Daredevil, Black Widow, Ghost Rider, Galaxy Scout, and much more were all available for free through participation in these special tournaments. Players that placed within a certain threshold in the standings received these skins for free as a reward.

Sometimes you don't even need to be a very skilled player to win these free skins. For example, the #FreeFortnite Cup awarded winners with the Tart Tycoon skin for free. This Cup wasn’t judged purely on eliminations or placement. Players earned points just by walking around the island and eating Apples.
Finally, there’s been other events in the past where all players had to do to earn the free skin was to participate. Their final results were irrelevant.

Occasionally, Fortnite will hold open contests available to anyone in the community. The most famous of these contests was probably the #boogiedown Contest.
Players were asked to record themselves dancing and submit the video through Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. Dances were judged based on the criteria of fun, originality, and
creativity. The ultimate winner of the event would have their dance turned into an in-game emote. This is how the legendary Orange Justice emote made it into the game.

However, there were additional rewards. The top 100 submissions all received the Funk Ops and Sparkle Specialist skins for free.
These contests are somewhat rare, but they offer yet another opportunity for players to obtain in-game cosmetics for free. Who knows, a simple dance video could earn you a couple of free skins.
There’s no longer an excuse to be a no-skin. Fortnite offers a plethora of ways to earn skins entirely for free. Fortnite awards free skins through Seasonal Events, Twitch Prime, online tournaments, and contests. Be on the lookout for future events and promotions — you may just walk away with a free skin.
Below are the top ten rarest or most sought-after skins in the Fortnite universe. Due to the rapidly changing nature of the game, this list is subject to change, as Epic Games could release any one of these high-demand skins in the accessory shop, and their rarity or value could drop. Currently, however, these are the most coveted and rarest Fortnite skins in the game.
When Epic Games first launched Fortnite: Battle Royale, this skin was available for about a month. In October and November of 2017, this skin also appeared a few times, albeit for very short periods.
Despite this skin disappearing for almost 900 days, it reappeared in the in-game store near the end of May. What was previously a sign of a long-time Fortnite player is now a skin that quite a bit more people seem to have.
One of the older skins on this list, Aerial Assault Trooper, has been around since Season 1. Players could purchase it after reaching Level 15 in-game.
This skin pre-dates the Battle Pass system, which makes it extremely rare, as it has been around since the game began. What makes this skin even rarer is that despite the low level compared to some of the other Battle Pass rares, this skin's unassuming appearance made players pass up the opportunity to purchase it when it was around.
The result? The increase in its rarity, due to only a select few opting to own it. Nowadays, this skin is highly desirable and serves as a sign that a player has been with Fortnite since the early days.
Much like the Reaper skin, the Dark Voyager skin also came from the Season 3 Battle Pass. Back in its heyday, this skin was actually kind of popular, as players only had to reach Tier 70 to obtain it. Now that Season 3 has long since passed, this skin has become a lot rarer.
Most players do not have the skin, as many of the people playing today were not playing Fortnite back in Season 3. The cool appearance of this skin makes it highly sought-after, but since the Season 3 Battle Pass, the skin has not made another appearance, making it one of the rarest Fortnite skins.
This John Wick-inspired skin has been around since the very early days of Fortnite, making it obscure and in very high demand. Not only did players have to purchase the Season 3 Battle Pass to obtain it, but they also had to climb the ranks and reach Tier 100 before it became unlockable.
Because Fortnite was only beginning to rise to the level of popularity it has reached today; this skin was not obtained by many.
The skin does not seem like it will be available outside of the Battle Pass, either, making it highly valuable. For players that were not around to reach Tier 100 in Season 3, an actual John Wick skin was created. However, the Reaper variant is significantly rarer.

This skin has been around since the very beginning of Fortnite, Season 1, to be exact. This skin is so old that it predates the Battle Pass System.
To obtain it, players had to reach level 20 and then go to the item shop, where this skin could be purchased for 1,200 V-Bucks. Due to this skin's appearance in-game before it became massively popular, many do not have it. Players that do, however, have been playing Fortnite since its inception, making it highly valuable.
A style of the Skull Trooper outfit only available to players that purchased the outfit during its initial release in October 2017.
This outfit, much like the standard Skull Trooper variant, has the Epic status. The normal Skull Trooper itself is also difficult to obtain, as it has only appeared in the item shop a few times since the initial 2017 release. What makes the purple variant so special is that it is only available to the select few players that bought the skin when it first came out, unlike all of the other variants that simply require a user to own the outfit.
This skin is highly sought after due to its limited release, appearance, and the time since the skin was last seen in the item shop. Released as part of the Fort Knights set, the Black Knight skin was the most coveted of the bunch, as players had to level up their Battle Pass to Level 70 just to obtain it. Despite the level cap in Season 2 being much lower than other seasons, this skin remains obscure due to its release so early in Fortnite's lifespan.
The game was just taking off when this skin dropped, making it extremely sought after. It was released on December 14, 2017, and was last seen on February 21, 2018. No one is sure if this outfit will appear in the item shop or remain a Season 2 exclusive.
Much less steeply-priced than the Samsung promotional skins, the Leviathan skin is one of the most sought-after of all of the Legendaries. Before August 3, 2020, this skin was only available in 2018, but it appeared in the item shop for a day, alongside a plethora of other nautically-themed items and outfits. This Fortnite rare skin is particularly in high demand due to its asking price of 20 dollars, sci-fi appearance, and status as one of the more obscure Legendary outfits.
If a player doesn't fancy being a space-suited fish-man, one of the other Legendary outfits, such as Raven, Cuddle Team Leader, or Moisty Merman, might suit their fancy. Each legendary sits at the same 20-dollar price point, and only is available in the item shop for a very short period of time.
Much more accessible than the Galaxy skin due to the plethora of supported Samsung devices and the Galaxy skin's retirement, the Glow skin is the female counterpart to the legendary skin. Much like its counterpart, this skin is free if a user utilizes a supported Samsung device to download Fortnite via the Galaxy store.
Once there, the user can opt to purchase this skin for $0.00, given they already have the device. If a player doesn't own a supported Samsung device and they have a very generous friend that does, they can be gifted this coveted skin.
Released as a cross-promotion between Samsung and Epic Games, the Galaxy skin is a rare and extremely difficult to obtain Fortnite rare skin, due to it being restricted to Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy Tablet S4 users.
Released on November 1, 2018, this skin is extremely rare and desirable. Now, it is no longer available to users, as the Glow Skin has replaced it. To obtain it, the player would have had to download Fortnite on the Galaxy Store on either the Galaxy Note 9 or Galaxy Tablet S4. It has the Epic rarity status due to its obscurity and cool appearance.
2022 BRINGS NEW SKINS TO FORTNITE:
2022 is here, bringing a whole new slew of Fortnite skins along with it. While our list of rarest skins still stands, we've decided to supplement it with some of 2022's newest rare offerings and some honourable mentions. Who knows, these skins might reappear in the Item Shop at some point, so be on the lookout.
Before we start our list, let's break down some new and anticipated skins for 2022.
Princess Felicity has been constantly teased by Fortnite developers Epic Games. So much so, that she's gotten a bit of a following online. Many players were excited for her eventual release, saving up the V-Bucks they needed to purchase her from the Item Shop.
Now, the long-awaited Princess Felicity is finally here, splashing down at the Item Shop on April 13. Since this was a long-awaited addition, many players were excited about her release. Given that Fishstick was a popular addition to the game, his royal counterpart has received glowing fanfare from fans of the game.
This skin is only available until the end of April, so if you haven't gotten it already, you should strongly consider it. Alli is the sister of another popular in-game avatar, Lynx.
Alli has been available since 8 PM EST on March 31, and will supposedly be available until the end of April. All players have to do to get her is subscribe to Fortnite Crew.
Fortnite Crew is a monthly subscription that rewards players with a new skin, accessories, the Fortnite Battle Pass, and 1,000 V-Bucks every month. Players that already have the Battle Pass can purchase access to Fortnite Crew for only 950 V-Bucks.
While Alli is not a particularly hard-to-find skin, her one-month presence as a Fortnite Crew skin is enough to make her valuable to players.
Another fan-favourite is Harley Quinn, an extremely recognisable pop culture icon across the world. While she was technically already released in the Item Shop last year, her Rebirth variant has not.
This variant of the skin is available for redemption after purchasing the first issue of the new DC comic-crossover Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point.
The comic series is expected to have six instalments, with each containing a redeemable digital code. Redeeming all of this will net players the Armored Batman Zero skin, whereas redeeming the first issue will give players Harley Quinn.
We suspect that there might be other digital rewards that come with each issue, so stay tuned! In any case, Rebirth Harley Quinn releases today, April 20, which is something to get excited for!
These might not be the rarest skins in Fortnite, but they're still highly sought after by players. Some of these skins are no longer available, and others frequent the Item Shop.
Keep a close eye on these Honourable Mentions. While they may not be as rare as some of the game's other skins, they are extremely uncommon and will definitely turn some heads in the lobby.

Starting our list of honourable mentions comes a rare skin that frequents the Item Shop. This skin was even seen last month, on March 29, 2022. While not as rare as the Renegade Raider or Galaxy skin, Raven is still highly sought-after by players.
Released on April 6, 2018, the Raven skin has been captivating Fortnite players for years. Maybe it's the macabre aesthetic or the skin's bird-like features and plumage. It could even be that this skin is part of Chapter 1 Season 3 history, making it uncommon and desirable. Whatever a player's reason for collecting the Raven skin might be, many can't deny that it's a cool addition to any collection.
The Raven skin is expected to return during this or next month, so players should be on the lookout for the elusive skin. It is one of the more accessible rare skins, making it both easy and fun to collect for players. The 2,000 V-Buck price tag might be steep for some, but this skin's frequent presence in the Item Shop makes it an easy grab nonetheless.
Like the Galaxy and Glow skins, the Royale Bomber is another platform-exclusive skin. Since the PS4 was more readily accessible than the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, more players have a Royale Bomber skin than one of Samsung's promotional skins.
Released in 2018, the Royale Bomber was popularised during the 2019 Fortnite World Cup. Kyle "Bugha" Giersdorf won the Fortnite World Cup with this skin equipped, making it an instant go-to for collectors.
Three years after its 2018 release, the price of the Royale Bomber skin has significantly increased, as the bundle is in shorter supply. The skin is a must-have for casual fans and professionals, especially those who play Fortnite on a PlayStation console.

Drift is a popular skin from Season 5, mostly due to the six different "levels" of his outfit that could be unlocked during the season. Levelling up the skin gave Drift different aesthetics, which significantly changed the skin's appearance.
The first level of the skin is just the base model, which is unlocked when a user purchased the Season 5 Battle Pass. Gaining XP levelled up the skin, rewarding players with different cosmetics for the Drift skin. The most notable of these cosmetics is the addition of a decorative mask during the fourth level.
While many players received the masked Drift skin, they did not manage to max out the skin's levels. The final level of Drift featured a mysterious aura around the character, as well as a brighter overall colour scheme.
While levelling up Drift might sound easy enough, it's not that simple any more. For one, the upgrade took 200,000 XP to complete. For two, season 5 has been over for quite some time, making this task impossible.
Despite this, Drift is a fan-favourite skin, one that will always be sought after by players both old and new.
From Season 1 exclusives to expensive cross-platform promotions, these Fortnite rare skins get the attention of anyone in a match or lobby. They are as iconic as they are rare and any player that has them owns a small piece of Fortnite history.
